For those of you who seek to take full advantage of our crystal clear seas we’ve got sailing, para-sailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, and more. For those not so committed to the oceanic experience Barbados also provides an abundance of venues for hiking, biking, and even zip-lining. We’ve got caves and gardens and gardens in caves, shooting, golfing, polo, tennis, private planes, helicopters, and much, much more, we even have Concorde!
Barbados hosts some of the world’s best golf courses. There is a brand new golf course at Apes Hill as well as one at Royal Westmoreland, not to go on name-dropping or anything but don’t forget about Sandy Lane, where Tiger Woods himself plays and where the World Golf CHampionship was hosted in 2007.
Polo has become ever more prominent on this small island as the island becomes host to more and more international tournaments, welcoming teams from the United States, United Kingdom, and Argentina, amongst others. They say it is the game of kings, who wouldn’t want a piece of that action?
Horse Racing has always been and continues to be, one of the most popular sports on the island as races are hosted at the Garrison Savannah year-round.
Rallying has picked up speed, so to say, on the local sporting scene. Every year there’s a week-long Rally Carnival in June which features prominently on the WRC circuit.
With our consistent winds and perfect seas, sailing is not to be excluded. There is a very active sailing community in Barbados with many a sea-faring fellow hoisting sails for the annual Mount Gay/Boatyard Regatta which draws competitors from the farthest reaches of the region, and beyond.
